Beyond the Blend: Wild Game Seasoning
From the crackling campfires at Deer Camp to late nights in the cabin, no hunting trip is perfect without a seasoning that will compliment your hard-earned harvest. Here at PS Seasoning, our Wild Game Blend brings out the best in every cut, whether it be a venison backstrap, elk tenderloin, wild turkey, bear roast, or pheasant breast.
Regardless of how you cook your deer (or elk, bear, wild turkey, etc.) you want to make sure it's seasoned right. Strong game-meat flavors deserve their own unique flavors—and our Wild Game Spice is just the ticket. This robust blend will add an addicting flavor and richness to any kind of meat.
“Wild Game cuts are usually a lot leaner and have gamey notes. This blend was designed to both accentuate that flavor and offer a bit of masking, so you get a balanced bite that’s bold but approachable.”
- Stephanie Neu, PS Seasoning, Master Meat Crafter

Flavor Profile
When it comes to wild game seasoning, the trick is balance. The strong flavors of game meat are best complimented with sweetness, a little heat, and earthy flavors from a variety of herbs. Our all-purpose Wild Game Seasoning is the perfect blend of each, with bold flavors that enhance game meat without overpowering it. With a heavy dose of garlic and onion, this blend gets its depth from a blend of earthy dried herbs:
Paprika: Made from the ground pod of bell peppers, paprika is a popular seasoning for meat as it lends a subtle sweetness and vibrant color to meat dishes.
Fennel: Typically used in sausage making and Italian dishes, fennel seeds have a warm, aromatic flavor that adds depth to meat.
Thyme: Earthy, with hints of lemon and mint, thyme works wonders at taming the stronger notes of wild game meat.
Dill: No pickle flavor here. Dried dill lends a slightly sweet flavor, with notes of celery and aniseed that add wonderful earthiness when paired with other savory spices.
How to Use this Wild Game Blend
This isn't just a seasoning- it's a game meat rub designed for versatility. For most applications, lightly coat meat surface with rub prior to cooking, smoking, or grilling.
In our test kitchen, we loved it mixed into venison burgers, sprinkled over grilled elk steaks, and even on a simple cast iron skillet venison sear. From backstraps to burgers, this seasoning is a must-have for any hunter or BBQ pitmaster who wants to transform their harvest into a meal worth bragging about.
