Sicilian-Style Steaks

Sicilian-Style Steaks

In true Italian style, simplicity rules. These Sicilian-style New York Strips are marinated in garlic, olive oil and Italian herbs, then grilled and drizzled in a fresh herb sauce, or salmoriglio if you're feeling fancy.

Sicilian-Style Steaks

Difficulty: Easy
Prep time: 2 hours
Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients:

New York Strip Steaks
3 T Olive Oil
3 Garlic Cloves, crushed
1 T Good Fella Italian Herb
Herb Drizzle
1/2 cup Olive Oil
Lemon, zest & juice
2 T Hot Water
2 T Oregano Leaves, chopped
1 T Parsley, chopped
2 tsp Thyme Leaves, chopped
Garlic Clove, minced
1 T Good Fella Italian Herb
1/4 tsp Chili Pepper Flakes

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, crushed garlic, and Good Fella. Set the steak in a glass baking dish, then rub the mixture all over the steaks. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

  2. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and preheat the grill, or a cast iron skillet.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the herb salmoriglio: Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until the ingredients are combined. Set aside.

  4. Transfer the steak to the grill, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side.  Transfer to a cutting board and rest for 10 minutes, then slice against the grain. Spoon the herb salmoriglio over the top of the steaks, then serve warm.
