Ingredients

½ Cup – Sugar

½ Cup – Water
-
1 Bag – Cranberries (fresh)

1 Cup – Sugar

¼ Cup – Apple Pie Rub
-
1 ½ oz – Bourbon
-
3 Shots – Bitters
-
1 – Orange Slice
-
3 – Candied Cranberries
-
2 tsp – Simple Syrup (reserved from candied cranberries)

2 oz – 7Up

Old Fashioned
Directions
Combine½ cupsugar and water in a sauce pot and set over medium low heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved. Avoid boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in the cranberries. Stir for 2 minutes.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the cranberries and set them on a rack lined tray to dry for 1 hour.
Combine the 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup apple pie rub.
Toss the cranberries in the sugar until well coated.
Set aside on parchment paper and hold in the fridge.
To make the cocktail, Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with the orange wedge. Then rim the glass with the sugar/apple pie mixture.
Place 3 candied cranberries in the glass and pop them. Do not muddle, just pop them open.
Add bitters and simple syrup.
Add ¼ cup of ice and then stir in the bourbon. Top with 7Up and garnish with more candied cranberries.
