Breakfast Sausage Corndog
Is this the fair or the breakfast table? We are mixing it up by taking your usual pancakes and breakfast sausage links and turning them into deep fried breakfast corndogs! How sweet to feel like a kid at your table!
1 Lb Apple Pie Breakfast Sausage Links (See Recipe)
3 Cups Pankcake batter- Prepared
1/2 Cup Maple Syrup- Dipping
Preheat fryer to 325 degrees.
Make the pancake batter.
Skewer the breakfast sausage with a 6” bamboo skewer, keeping it on one end.
Dip the sausage into the pancake batter. Twisting and dunking to make sure the entire sausage is well covered with batter.
Continuing to hold onto the stick, dip the sausage end of the skewer into the fryer oil until the batter is set. Then release the whole skewer into a basket. Place another basket onto to weigh down the corndog.
Tip: Don’t release the corndog until the batter is set, otherwise they will stick to the basket.
Allow to rest and dry on a paper towel lined plate to soak up excess oil.
Serve with maple syrup for dipping and enjoy!
