No Wrap Ribs
Achieve BBQ perfection with this no-wrap ribs recipe. Seasoned with Blue Ribbon Rub and finished with Blue Ribbon BBQ Sauce, these ribs are smoked low and slow without wrapping for a beautiful bark and tender bite.
Ingredients
- 2 Racks -- Baby Back Ribs
- 2 TB -- Mustard (binder)
- 3/4 Cup -- Blue Ribbon Rub
- 1/4 Cup -- Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3/4 Cup -- Blue Ribbon BBQ Sauce
Directions
- Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs.
- Remove the small bone from the end of the rack.
- Slather the ribs with mustard.
- Season the ribs, on all sides, generously with Blue Ribbon Rub.
- Let the ribs rest at room temperature while your smoker preheats.
- Turn your smoker on the Smoke setting and set it to 180 degrees.
- Once preheated, place the ribs on a rack and into the smoker. Smoke 1 hour.
- Fill a sawdust pan 1/2 full with sawdust and dampen with water.
- Place the sawdust pan directly on the heating element. Set dampers 2/3 closed. Smoke 2 hours.
- Spray hourly with Apple Cider Vinegar.
- Carefully remove the sawdust pan.
- Change the setting on the smoker to Cook and increase the temperature to 250 degrees.
- Cook until the ribs become probe tender or until they are to your liking.
- Baste the ribs with Blue Ribbon BBQ sauce and continue to cook for an additional 15 minutes.
- Remove the ribs from the smoker and rest at room temp for 10 minutes before serving.
