Ingredients
2 Lb Brats
2 Onions- Julienned
3 T Butter
1 1/2 Cup- Blue Ribbon BBQ Sauce
1 Package (16Oz)- Tater Tots-Frozen
2 Cups- Shredded Cheese (yellow)
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium sized sauté pan, melt the butter and then caramelize the onions. Stirring often to avoid burning, and until they are well browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Remove the brat casings and sauté the meat until fully cooked.
In a casserole dish, spread out the brat meat at the bottom of the pan.
Next evenly add the caramelized onion.
Drizzle the BBQ sauce evenly.
Line the tater tots over the meat and onions, so the whole pan is covered. Top with cheese and place in the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until hot throughout and cheese is melted.
Allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
