PS Seasoning Transitions Speed Cure Products to New Dye-Free Formula

PS Seasoning Transitions Speed Cure Products to New Dye-Free Formula

Advancing Clean-Label Standards While Maintaining the Same Trusted Performance

At PS Seasoning, we're committed to helping our customers stay ahead of industry changes while delivering products they can rely on. As part of that commitment, we're making an important update to our Speed Cure product line.

Beginning October 12, 2026, PS Seasoning will start removing dye from all Speed Cure products, transitioning them to a dye-free formula.

While the appearance of the product is changing, customers can expect the same trusted curing performance they've relied on for years.

Why We're Making This Change

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has revoked authorization for FD&C Red No. 3 (erythrosine) in food, with a compliance deadline of January 15, 2027. To support cleaner labeling and stay ahead of the deadline, we are removing the dye starting October 12th.

Speed Cure is used in the meat curing process. The pink color was originally added to distinguish cure from plain salt. Clear labeling and packaging serve that purpose today, and the change will not affect performance. This brings Speed Cure in line with our existing dye-free curing products and our broader clean-label standards.

What Customers Can Expect

This transition is simple:

  • New Color: Speed Cure will change from pink to white.

  • Cure Packet Ingredient Statement Change: With the removal of the Red No. 3 dye, the Cure ingredient statement will have this ingredient removed.

  • Same Performance: The curing process, effectiveness, and product quality will remain the same.

Transition Timeline

The removal of dye from Speed Cure will begin October 12, 2026 and will occur as a rolling conversion across product lines, package types, and container sizes.

Because inventory will transition over time, not every product will change on the same date.

Customers can stay informed by:

  • Checking current product availability on the PS Seasoning website.

  • Contacting their PS Seasoning sales representative.

  • If you manufacture finished products using Speed Cure, work with your regulatory body for any required label changes, processing documentation, and training material updates needed to reflect the product change.

Looking Ahead

This proactive transition reflects PS Seasoning's continued investment in regulatory compliance, product quality, and clean-label innovation. By making this change ahead of regulatory deadlines, we're helping ensure a seamless experience for our customers while continuing to deliver the dependable curing performance they've come to expect.

We appreciate your continued partnership and thank you for choosing PS Seasoning.

If you have questions about the transition or need assistance identifying the appropriate products, please contact our team at [email protected] or call 800-328-8313.
