How to Replace the Burner in the Pro Max and Pro Classic Home Smokers
It is rare for a heating element to fail but if you are a heavy user and avid smoker, you may need to replace the burner in your Pro Smoker Max 100 S or Classic 100 S smoker. Below is a video tutorial to help you. You'll need a replacement burner for this installation.
Step by Step Instructions
- Unplug your smoker, remove shelves, screens, and pans; make sure the smoker is fully cooled
- Use a friend to help you lay the smoker on its back with a cloth under and open the door with a support under such as a box or table
- Remove the base on the Pro Max and the bottom plate for either smoker
- Remove the screw holding the burner to the bracket and press the tabs to push the burner, plate, and drip pan through the bottom hole
- From the inside of the smoker, remove the burner plate and drip tray (it's a great time to clean them!) and then disconnect the burner from the terminal by unscrewing the wires
- Get out your new burner and reinstall the wires with a screwdriver, beginning with the black wire secured to the screw labeled "1"
- Attach the white wire second to the terminal labeled "120"
- Finally, attach the red wire to the terminal marked "2"
- Reinstall the burner plate and drip tray through the smoker body and under the burner hole; the slot should face the back of the smoker
- Push the burner back into place in the bottom hole
- Don't forget to fasten the new burner into the bracket
- Now you can reattach the bottom plate and the base (for the Pro Max) and put the smoker back upright
