QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Profile: This position requires a self-driven, well organized Quality Assurance Technician who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. This position reports to the Food Safety & Quality Manager. This position supports the company’s production facility with the responsibilities that are included below.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, verify, sample, weigh and test product for defects
  • Discard or reject product not meeting specifications
  • Observe and monitor production operations to ensure conformance and make adjustments if necessary
  • Working with the plant to comply to customer requirements and maintain high industry standards
  • Support and enforce all GMPs, policies, SOPs, etc
  • Complete allergen testing
  • Monitor CCP several times daily
  • Support all required customer audits, safe quality food (SQF) audits, third party audits and internal audits
  • Maintain pre-operation inspection procedures as well as monthly audits performed inside and outside the building
  • Label proofreading; paying special attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills required
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to transition between production and office environment
  • Prior work experience in food manufacturing with HACCP, GMPs and food safety programs is preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently

QUALITY SUPERVISOR

Profile: This position requires a self-driven, well organized Quality Supervisor who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. This position reports to the President. This position supports the company with the responsibilities that are included below.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recommending and seeking methods to improve existing quality programs
  • Develop and implement Safe Quality Food Program
  • Independently initiates new process improvements and cost savings projects
  • Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF, HACCP, GMP and allergen control program
  • Working with the plant to comply to customer requirements and maintain high industry standards
  • Manage daily, weekly, quarterly sanitation program to ensure that proper chemicals and procedures are followed
  • Conduct annual training sessions for GMPs, HACCP and other food safety and quality issues to managers and all employees
  • Coordinate, communicate and schedule all required customer audits, safe quality food (SQF) audits, third party audits and internal audits
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current work experience in food manufacturing with HACCP, GMPs and SQF is required
  • Strong computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
