Ingredients: | |
1 | Whole chicken, drained and patted dry, giblets removed |
4-6 T | Smokehouse BBQ Rub |
1 | Can of Beer |
3 T | Whiskey Barrel BBQ Sauce |
2 T | Olive Oil |
Instructions:
1) Pour out half the can of beer until you have half a can remaining. Into the can of beer, or a beer can chicken stand, add the barbecue sauce. Set aside.
2) Brush the chicken generously with olive oil and season with Smokehouse BBQ Rub. Carefully slide the chicken onto the beer can or chicken stand so that the cavity fits snugly onto the beer can or chicken stand. Tuck the chicken wings behind the chicken's back.
3) Preheat your grill to 350 degrees F. Grill your chicken upright on the beer can or chicken stand for 1 hour-1 hour and 15 minutes until the internal temperature reads 180 degrees F at the thickest part of the chicken and the juices run clear. Remove the chicken from the grill, allow to rest 15 minutes, then serve.
