Tart and Tangy: When these apples reach their peak they are a bright green. Full of fiber Granny Smith apples will keep you full longer and a recent study shows it has unique nutrients to support healthy gut bacteria. How to use: Because of their firmness and tartness, these apples are used in dishes cooked or raw to balance out sweetness.
Sweet: Light red in coloring, Galas are full of flavor and said to have anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and antioxidant properties. How to use: With their mild sweetness Gala apples are great for savory and sweet dishes. They cook well and are served great raw.
